Spitzer’s take on work comp reform

If anyone can get workers comp reform addressed in New York, it’s new Goc. Eliot Spitzer (D). In a wide-ranging interview conducted yesterday by the Journal-News, Spitzer noted that work comp reform is at or near the top of his list of priorities.
Likely changes will include a cap on the duration of benefits for injured workers.

  1. “I don’t want to overstate it, but I think we all remember reading Kant and moral imperatives. I think that you could almost craft the argument that there was a moral imperative to this debate and there was a utility to using it as a way to galvanize support for the continuum effort of reform, and it is a continuum effort.”
This guy is a piece of work. Why can’t he be my governor?? Oh right, I live in Texas where more effort goes into the governor’s hair than his speeches.

  2. Workers comp reform: even while the capitol hill crowd is carving out a workers comp reform package it is trying to make sure that all workers comp problems associated with the 9/11 cleanup are addressed to the White House.
